transRobota ist ein temporäres, internationales Kunstprojekt, das im Rahmen der VII. Biennale für zeitgenössiche Kunst in Szczecin 2007 auf der Lasztownia (Lastadie) im Stettiner Hafen stattfindet. Dieses sich im Umbruch befindende Gewerbegebiet liegt auf der rechten Oderseite direkt dem Stadtzentrum gegenüber.
transRobota ist ein Kunstwort, zusammengesetzt aus trans, lateinisch jenseits und robota aus dem tschechischen/polnischen für physische Arbeit, spät-mittelhochdeutsch für Fronarbeit (roboten), ab Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts in Anlehnung an ein Theaterstück von Karel Capek auch Maschinenmensch.
transRobota ist ortsspezifisch ausgerichtet und reagiert in Zeiten spürbarer globaler Transformation auf den sozialen, ökonomischen und architektonischen Raum des Stettiner Hafengeländes. Dazu werden speziell für das Projekt und den Ort konzipierte Arbeiten entstehen. Firmen, Betriebe und Gewerbeflächen bilden einen integralen Bestandteil des Ausstellungsprojekts. Die hier noch vorhandenen unterschiedlichen Arbeitswelten sind der Ausgangs- und Bezugspunkt für künstlerische Reaktionen, Kommentare oder Interventionen. Konkrete Produktionsprozesse und Arbeitsstätten werden in das Projekt eingebunden.
rio.pool entstand als Zusammenschluss kreativer Freidenker aus der Notwendigkeit des Fächerübergriffs heraus. Die Mitglieder von rio.pool sind aus den Bereichen Konzept, Malerei, Architektur und Skulptur, teils freischaffend, studierend oder in der Lehre tätig. rio.pool sind:

transRobota is a temporary, international art project, which takes place within the VIIth Biennale for Contemporary Art in Szczecin in 2007, on the Lasztownia in Szczecin harbour. This industrial park, which is being rebuilt, is situated on the right bank of the Oder River, directly opposite the city centre.
transRobota is an artificial word, composed of trans, Latin for across/beyond, and robota, from the Czech/Polish word for hard work, old Austrian for socage (Robath), and since the early 20th century also used for cyborgs, after a play by Karel ?apek.
transRobota is arranged site-specifically and reacts – in times of noticeable global transformations – to the social, economical and architectural area of the Szczecin harbour. The nascent art objects will be designed specifically with the project and the location in mind. Companies, businesses and industrial space form an integral part of the exhibition project. The various still existent working environments are the starting and reference points for artistic reactions, comments or interventions. Specific production processes and workplaces were incorporated into the project.

rio.pool arose from an alliance of creative free thinkers, out of the necessity for interdisciplinary action. The members of rio.pool come from the fields of concept, painting, architecture and sculpture, and are either self-employed, studying or teaching. rio.pool consists of: David Baur, Lukasz Lendzinski, Peter Weigand, Georg Winter.
